“This determination misunderstands how our merchandise work,” Google spokesperson Jose Castaneda stated in an announcement to Reuters. “Our privateness instruments give individuals management over their knowledge, and once they flip off personalization, we honor that selection.”

Castaneda stated the corporate plans to attraction the decision.

Through the trial, Google stated the info collected was “nonpersonal, pseudonymous, and saved in segregated, secured, and encrypted places.”

The corporate claimed the info was not related to customers’ Google accounts or any person’s id. 

Lawyer David Boies, who represented the customers, stated in an announcement they had been “clearly more than happy with the decision the jury returned.”
