Jessica Simpson Marks 8 Years Sober, Says Alcohol ‘Blocked My Goals’

Jessica Simpson is celebrating a robust private milestone … marking 8 years of sobriety with an emotional message to followers about selecting religion over worry.

The singer took to Instagram on Saturday to mirror on the day she determined to cease ingesting, writing that it was the second she “confronted, confessed, and let go of the self sabotaging components” of her life that had been holding her again.

“Eight years in the past at the moment I made the selection to confront, to admit and to let go of the self sabotaging components of my life that I used to be selecting,” Jessica wrote. “Making that call allowed me to totally dwell within the pursuit of God’s function for my life.”

She went on to explain how alcohol had consumed her peace and creativity … calling it a non secular and emotional block that almost derailed her function.

“Alcohol silenced my instinct, blocked my goals and chased my circulating fears of complacency,” she continued. “At the moment I’m clear. At the moment I’m pushed by religion.”

The mother of three added a robust message about what true power appears like, writing, “Each worry and religion are one thing that we really feel and should not see — I am so joyful I selected religion over worry. It was not within the combat that I discovered my power, it was within the give up.”
