Authorities have declared the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of television personality Savannah Guthrie, a criminal investigation following disturbing findings at her Arizona residence. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos revealed during a Monday briefing that evidence collected from the scene indicates foul play.

“We observed concerning indicators at the home that led us to classify this as a crime scene,” Sheriff Nanos stated. “Given Ms. Guthrie’s limited mobility, we can confirm she didn’t leave voluntarily. There are clear signs she didn’t exit the premises under her own power.”
Nancy Guthrie, last seen January 31 at her Catalina Foothills home near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue, has been classified as a missing vulnerable adult due to her age. Despite this designation, officials emphasized the 5’5″, 150-pound woman with brown hair and blue eyes maintains full cognitive awareness.

While absent from her regular hosting duties Monday, Savannah Guthrie provided a statement read on-air: “Our family appreciates the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
