Rick Astley’s ‘By no means Gonna Give You Up’ and ‘Wake Up Lifeless Man’ share a filming location

There was a time — years in the past, thoughts you — that “Rickrolling” somebody was the height of web humor.

If you do not know what that is, bless your both younger or previous coronary heart. The almost 20-year-old prank was easy: You’d get somebody to unknowingly click on the hyperlink to the tacky music video for Rick Astley’s ’80s basic “By no means Gonna Give You Up.” Increase, you’ve got simply been Rickrolled.

Effectively, in a neat little bit of synergy, the newest installment of the beloved-by-the-internet collection Knives Out truly shared a location with the filming of “By no means Gonna Give You Up.” Director Rian Johnson confirmed on Bluesky that the health club scene in Wake Up Lifeless Man was shot the place Astley filmed his basic music video. Surprisingly, not that a lot of anybody cared on set.

“That is true, and I used to be the one one on set enthusiastic about it (and taking part in the track on my telephone to clean stares),” he wrote in response to a publish that identified the enjoyable truth.

For the curious, it seems that the shared location is the Harrow Membership in London, which was as soon as a church. So, sure, Wake Up Lifeless Man and “By no means Gonna Give You Up” share some artistic DNA. What a world.
