President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that Denmark has not been in a position to do something to get the “Russian risk” away from Greenland, and stated, “Now it’s time, and it will likely be carried out!!!”
“NATO has been telling Denmark, for 20 years, that “it’s a must to get Russian risk away from Greenland.”
Sadly, Denmark has been unable to do something about it,” Trump wrote in a submit on the social media web site he owns known as Reality Social.
The White Home and Denmark’s overseas affairs ministry didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters’ request for remark.
Trump has repeatedly insisted he’ll accept nothing lower than possession of Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark.
Leaders of each Denmark and Greenland have insisted the island shouldn’t be on the market and doesn’t need to be a part of the US.
Trump on Saturday vowed to implement a wave of accelerating tariffs on European allies till the US is allowed to purchase Greenland.
The encroaching presence of China and Russia makes Greenland important to US safety pursuits, Trump has stated.
Danish and different European officers have identified that Greenland is already coated by NATO’s collective safety pact.
