U.S. President Donald Trump issued a pointy warning to Canada over its increasing financial relationship with China Saturday, threatening sweeping tariffs over commerce between the 2 nations.

Trump stated any transfer by Ottawa to facilitate Chinese language entry to U.S. markets can be met with a 100 per cent tariff on all Canadian items getting into the USA.

In a submit on his Fact Social platform, Trump rejected the concept Canada might function what he referred to as a “drop off port” for Chinese language exports destined for the U.S. market.

“If Governor Carney thinks he’s going to make Canada a ‘Drop Off Port’ for China to ship items and merchandise into the USA, he’s sorely mistaken,” Trump wrote. “China will eat Canada alive, utterly devour it, together with the destruction of their companies, social cloth, and common lifestyle,” his submit learn.
